Rule 41
Acting Promotion

(1) The promotion committee may recommend acting promotion to military personnel from the rank of sergeant to charioteer who have not completed the training as per schedule-6 but have completed the following service period in the case that the position above one level is vacant:-
(a) Five years
for co-combatants (b) Nine years
for soldiers (c) Thirteen years
for chief soldier (d) Seventeen years
for Mahasenani (e) Twenty years
for Assistant Rathi (f) Twenty-two years
for the above (g) Twenty-three years
for the chariot (2) According to sub-rule (1), a military person who has been recommended and promoted as acting officer shall be entitled to wear the insignia of the rank of acting officer. However, he will not be promoted until he completes the training as per schedule-6 throughout the acting period.
(3) Military personnel who are promoted to acting will not get pay increase (grade) for the entire period of acting.
